Full Description:
The City of Seaside, CA invites community members to learn about the tsunami risk to their community and how they can become more resilient to tsunamis and other hazards. The Tsunami Walk will begin at 4:00 pm at Seaside City Hall with a brief presentation recognizing Seaside's recent designation as a Tsunami Ready Community, and providing an overview of the tsunami hazard and local and county planning and preparedness efforts. The event continues with a walk from City Hall west along Del Rey Oaks Blvd./Laguna Grande Park which lies along the perimeter of the tsunami inundation zone. During the walk staff from Seaside Fire Department and the Monterey County Office of Emergency Services will lead a conversation about evacuations, shelters, and other concerns related to tsunami preparedness and safety. The walk will conclude back at City Hall at 5:00 pm.
