Full Description:
The National Tsunami Warning Center is holding its annual tsunami exercise, LANTEX25, for U.S. and Canadian East and Gulf Coast partners on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025. The goal of this exercise is to practice tsunami event response procedures; hence the exercise is primarily intended for NWS partners and emergency managers.
The scenario will be a tsunami warning for the U.S. and Canadian Atlantic coastline, directly following a M6.8 earthquake and submarine landslide. We will provide realistic event information flow and partner decision support through emailed exercise bulletins, hourly Google Meet conference calls, and real-time chat via Slack at: nws-tsunami-atlantic-partners.
