Summary:
The annual North Coast Regional Tsunami Communications Drill will encourage those who live or work in the tsunami hazard zone to practice walking out of danger on March 25, 2026. The drill will include a reverse 911 call, text, and email to residents signed up for MendoAlert in the coastal tsunami zone, activation of tsunami sirens (Mendocino County only), and radio and TV messages (Emergency Alert System).


Full Description:
The annual North Coast Regional Tsunami Communications Drill will encourage those who live or work in the tsunami hazard zone to practice walking out of danger on March 25, 2026. Representatives from Mendocino, Humboldt, and Del Norte counties along with the National Weather Service and Redwood Coast Tsunami Working Group, worked together on this drill which will include a reverse 911 call, text, and email to residents signed up for MendoAlert in the coastal tsunami zone, activation of tsunami sirens (Mendocino County only), and radio and TV messages (Emergency Alert System).

• MendoAlert – Text. Email, reverse 911 Call based on user account preferences. (sent to coastal residents only)
• Emergency Alert System – Will interrupt television and radio and NWS radio broadcast with a preparedness message.
• Tsunami Siren – Sirens in Point Arena and Noyo Harbor will be activated between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM. (Pudding Creek siren is currently not operational)
